Credit Bureau Consent

Your written permission for us and the lender to pull your credit report from Equifax or TransUnion and verify your information. It's part of the BRX Client Consent and Service Agreement we send you to sign electronically.

How recent: a credit report is good for about 30 days.

Needed for every application.

What it should show

A consent form that gets accepted

brx-client-consent-form.jpg
  1. Signed and dated by every borrower on the application

  2. Your name matches your photo ID

  3. Your date of birth and address come from your application, so they need to match it

Before you send it

  • Signing electronically is fine.

  • We can't use a credit report you pulled yourself. We pull it through our system, which lets us send the same report to multiple lenders.

  • A credit check for a mortgage has a small, short-term effect on your score.

  • Any insurance offers in the agreement are optional. You can decline them.

  • Besides the credit check, the form covers ID verification, how your information is protected, email and text updates you can unsubscribe from, our role as your broker, and how we're paid.

What happens after you sign

Once we pull your credit, we book a full consultation to go through your credit bureau with you. We tell you your credit score and walk you through any missed payments or collections, so you know exactly what lenders will see. This helps us build your full financial picture.

A missed payment or collection

doesn't mean you can't get a mortgage. We just need to understand what happened so we can explain it to the lender. Banks often look only at the number. We look at the full story and the person behind it.
